Pump It Up! | Increasing Penis Size & Girth - Penis Pumps

So we went over the jelqing method of increasing girth and length, but what about something more well-known? Though the penis pump that we know (also referred to as a Vacuum Constriction Device) is still popular since it's creation in 1917. And we have a gent named Otto Lederer to thank! At least, he was the guy who created a pump with the addition of a cock ring. (http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/725873_2)

What does it do?
A penis pump is meant to help those who would ordinarily not be able to achieve an erection get and keep one via suction. So basically, it helps the person get an erection by using pressure to allow blood to flow through the penis, and the cock ring allows the blood to stay there.

This is an alternative to herbal supplements and medication. For some, medication isn't an option because they are currently taking meds, or they don't want to take them at all. Herbal supplements are available, but tend to be quite expensive, both in single pill and bottle forms.

A penis pump is essentially a one-time purchase, unless yours is shitty or breaks after using it a couple of times. What? I'm honest.

How does it work?
To use a pump, you begin by placing the cylinder over the penis. Next, pump the air out of the cylinder to create a vacuum. This can be done manually, or with a battery-operated pump. The suction within the cylinder will result in blood coursing through the penis. When the penis is erect, use lubricant to slide the penis out of the pump and place cock ring around base of the penis. Some pumps allow you to slide the cock ring on while you're pulling the penis out, but not all of them do. One will want to be careful while using these pumps, as they can leave blisters, burst blood vessels, and on occasion may pull the testicles into the cylinder.

The water pump, such as the Bathmate, require a little more work. First, you will want to slide the latch into the correct position, use the right comfort pad, and allow yourself some time in a shower or bath to warm up. After, you will need to fill the pump with water and insert yourself. Creating a tight seal, begin pumping to get some suction going and release some water. Eventually, you will want to pump again to regain suction. The Bathmate specifically slowly releases suction to keep the user from getting hurt.

The penis pump is ideal for people dealing with Erectile Dysfunction (ED) because they do not require surgery, medication, or injections. Similarly, it can be used in addition to other forms of treatment to maximize your experience.

What kinds of pumps are there?
I'm glad you asked, you beautiful person! These are the pumps that I've found to have the most hype and popularity.

Bathmate (Hydromax) - $100 - $400 online. Ships globally, has discreet packaging, and has a 95% success rating. 1 year warranty.

Penomet – (another water-assisted pump) $127 - $297 online. 3 year warranty and lifetime gaiter replacement warranty. Discreet shipping.

Pos-T-Vac Battery Pump - $200 - $500 online. Covered by some medical insurances.

Honorable mentions: Black Jack Stroker by California Exotic Novelties.
This pump does the job, but also can be used as a vibrating stroker for extra pleasure! Visit this website to learn more about it.

Pump It Up! | Increasing Penis Size & Girth - Jelqing

Okay, I'd be a liar if I said I didn't laugh at this whole thing. In fact, I found out about jelqing at work. I had picked up a pamphlet about the HydroMax penis pump and read through it, then saw an ad for jelqing cream. My co-worker and I had no idea what the hell jelqing was, so we looked it up. Good laughs!

But in all seriousness now, I'll explain the jelqing process and give links to sites you can go to for more information.

What's “Jelqing”?
Jelqing is a form of penis enlargement exercise that uses a milking-type motion to allow blood to flow throughout the penis with ease. Essentially and hypothetically, the stroking motion helps stretch it, adding length and girth. According to most websites, the word is Middle Eastern for “milking”.

As with all exercises, please perform this with caution.

Steps
Lubricate the penis before beginning to jelq. You can use an enlargement gel/cream, oil, thick water based lubricant, or silicone lubricant.

Your penis should be firm, but not hard enough to penetrate. Do not jelq with a full erection. That is way too much strain on your penis all at once.

Use an OK Grip and start at the base of the penis. Move up the length of the penis, stopping before you reach the head. Repeat this motion, always stopping at the head of the penis. Continue this for 5-20 minutes per day,

at least 5 times a week.

The folks over at PEGym recommend this routine.
5 minutes – Warm up
5 minutes – Penis stretches*
10 minutes – Basic jelq
5 minutes – Warm down

*See this video for penis stretch techniques.

If you've noticed your penis becoming stronger and your erections becoming firmer, then that means it's working! But if you have been experiencing difficulties with your erections, slow down the jelqing.

Warming Up and Cooling Down
I always make a joke that my partner and I are like fire and water because he's a Pisces and I'm a Sagittarius. I heat him up, he cools me down. On a similar note, how does one “warm up” their penis? Hopefully not like one would start a friction fire...

You'll want to warm up your penis at least 10 minutes before jelqing. Some methods include:
  • Taking a hot shower
  • Using a Bathmate HydroMax pump
  • Using a heating pad
  • Wrapping your penis with a warm washcloth
Warming down:
  • Using lotion, massage your penis for 1-2 minutes.
  • Wrap your penis is a warm washcloth for at least 5 minutes.

Jelqing Devices
I won't get too into these because there's not much to say, in my opinion. They look like padded clamps, but are designed to assist you with jelqing. Here is a link to Jelq Machine's product page.
http://www.jelqmachine.com/

Side Effects
There are some websites that say jelqing doesn't work at all, such as Cosmopolitan. In addition, they've added some negative side effects of jelqing. These include:
  • Desensitization of penis
  • Disfiguring penis
  • Irritation
  • Scarring
  • Tearing blood vessels

Does it actually work?
Honestly, there's no way to know for sure unless you do it yourself. I did find some testimonials from various websites.

I've been jelqing for more than 6 months. This is what I have learned.
I’ve experimented with different jelqing techniques and schedules over the past 6 months or so and I thought I would share what I have discovered. Of course, this is what works for me. It may not work for you.
I pretty much just jelq. I do some light stretching on and off but my main focus is jelqing.
I use an overhand alternating sitting down 2-3 second stroke.

Basically what I have discovered is that erect jelqing not only is dangerous, but completely ineffective.
I erect jelqed for two months and saw a decrease in length of .25 inch. My width was reduced by .50 inch. This was after recovery from three day impotence after I gave up erect jelqing as an “advanced” technique. Of course, we all know erect jelqing is dangerous. You could burst a vein. I think however it is unlikely you will burst a vein. In my experience, the real danger is loss of dick.
The worse advice you will ever hear is to erect jelq as an advanced technique. You know, to make your dick bigger means that it must be bigger when jelqing is the only way it will get bigger in reality. You know, dont do this as a beginner. This is false bullshit. Never do it!

Rest days are more important than jelqing days. You must rest. If not every other day than do a light schedule and take the weekend off.
Do not jelq erect or even close to it. 50 -70% is perfect. You need blood to force around in your dick. An erect dick stresses it too much and will need a very long recovery period. A recovery from damage and destruction and atrophy. Not growth.”

I've been jelqing for 3 weeks. And i have seen and feel a noticeable increase in the girth of my penis. I jelq 5 days a week. I start of with a hot towel compress around my penis for about 5 min. That is followed by stretching my penis, by holding the head of my penis and pulling it straight out as far as possible I hold this for 5 mins. Rest for a min then twirl my penis to get blood flowing. I do the stretching 4 more times left ,right, up, down, after each I rest then twirl. Then I begin the jeqing exercise. Get the penis semi erect (use massage oil ) make an ok sign wrap around base of penis firmly and stroke towards the head, as you get towards the head put other hand at base and repeat. I do this for 300 to 500 strokes. Once I finish jelqing I massage my penis for 5 min then wrap with a hot towel for 5 min. I am also taking a herbal penis enhancement pill twice a day. I have experienced no negatives with the jelqing and so far it does appear to work for me.” (http://www.steadyhealth.com/topics/anyone-had-success-with-jelqing)

Back for a while!

Hello everyone! I apologize for having not updated you in quite a long time. Here's what's going on:

I currently hold two part-time jobs. One is at an organization, the other is at an adult novelty store. While they are both amazing in their own way, they are still a lot of work. I don't often have time to sit and write a blog post, let alone do any research for one. However, I'm going to try in the...2 hours that I have today! :)

My other responsibility is to find an apartment. My partner and I plan on moving in together; a task which is much easier than it sounds. Between apartment viewings, contacts, and applications, I'm completely drained and emotionally beaten at times. Add that with the work exhaustion and it's not a good time.

I've missed writing for everyone. I've missed posting new and interesting posts about the world of positive sexuality and materials for a happier sex life. That's why I'm here now, and I hope you enjoy my next post!

I've been considering a YouTube channel, though that would require more from me (such as a decent web cam) that I cannot provide at this time. Perhaps in the future. :)

So head over to the new post! I'm sure you'll find it new and...well, fascinating on a couple of levels.

It's good to be back.

Inside and Out: Toys for the Male Body pt. 4 - Urethral Sounding/Penis Plugs

Urethral Sounding & Penis Plugs
I won't lie, folks. Urethral sounding is one of the strangest kinks I've ever heard of. It frightens and intrigues me greatly. It only scares me because of how fragile the penis can be and how absolutely patient one has to be during the sounding process. It doesn't help that I was introduced to this kink during one night of drinking at a friend's house, my guy friends surrounding a laptop with expressions ranging from "Oh..." to "NOPE". In any case, the part of me that finds this fascinating drives me to write this particular blog entry.

Urethral Sounds:
Urethral sounding, sometimes called "cock-stuffing", is the act of sexual experimentation via sliding a long, smooth, thin, and often surgical steel tube into the urethra of the penis (the pee hole). Because these tubes are called "sounds", the act is considered "sounding".

There are a several kinds of sounds:

Van Buren (J-Shaped sound)
Dittle/Dittel (Straight sound)
Pratt (Double-ended curved sound)
Hegar (S-Shaped sound)
Rosebud (Straight sounds w/bulbous end)

Using a lot of lube, the person will place the sound in the hole of the penis gently, without forcing or pushing. For some, they find that holding the penis upright while letting the sound glide in by itself does the job just fine. But if they should find that there's some blockage, it's best to consider a narrower sound and more lube. DO NOT FORCE THE SOUND! Pushing the sound deeper could lead to urethral tearing and infections.

Lubes: This is completely up to you. Silicone lubricants are slippery, smooth, and come from a variety of brands. My favorites are Sliquid Silver, System Jo, and Uberlube. Silicone lubes stay on the skin longer, making it a favorite for skin-on-skin contact and for urethral sounding. Some folks don't like it because it's harder to clean and can stain sheets. Water based lubes work fine, but they don't last as long because they absorb into the skin as they're supposed to. There are hybrid lubes (silicone/water) if you're not sure which to use. I would suggest either Sliquid or System Jo.

Safety Tips:
- Use specific urethral sounds, not random things you find around the house. Household items can be unsanitary and breakable.
- Begin with the most simple and thin sound available, to allow you to get used to the sensations.
- Sterilize your sounds in boiling water for 5 minutes before and after use. You could also wipe them down with alcohol for added protection.
- In addition to sterilization, keep your body clean. This includes hands, genitals, etc.
- If your sound doesn't have a hole in it for semen to pass through, you'll want to take it out before ejaculation to avoid "retrograde ejaculation" (semen redirecting into the bladder instead of leaving through the urethra...yikes).
- Remember to use lubrication, not saliva. Though it's tempting to use saliva because it's readily accessible, it can also contain sugars. As you may know, sugars cause Urinary Tract Infection.
First timers/beginners: During your first urethral sounding, it's encouraged that you be as calm and relaxed as possible. Your penis will naturally want to reject it or block it. Let the weight of the toy sink in while you keep your penis vertical. After it's inside and you're comfortable, you can start stimulating your penis or have a partner do it. This includes moving the sound in and out very gently and masturbating with it in.

Penis Plugs
Another form of urethral stimulation and experimentation can be used with penis plugs. Urethral sounds are long, are typically medical equipment, and are made for deep stimulation. Penis plugs are shorter, have multiple designs, and are made for shallow, penile stimulation. There's also a glans ring to keep the plug in place because they are toys, not medical equipment.

The usage and cleaning of penis plugs are the same, so one could follow the same directions as the urethral sounds.

Random Toy Review 1: Dai-Do Metal Dildo #6

Specs

Insertable length:
3 3/4"
Circumference:
4 1/2"
Diameter:
1 3/8"
Weight:
1 lb

Non-porous materials, phalate and latex free, hypo-allergenic

This amazing toy is made of sleek and body-safe metal with a medical-grade silicone band. At the store where I work (I started working at an adult store), we have way too many of them, so they're 70% off. It's smooth and heavy, making it perfect for solo play. While the larger end of this toy seems rather intimidating, I find that it's a very pleasant challenge. A friend of mine mention that she got this after having her first child, using it as a large kegel ball.

What I like about this toy: It can be used with silicone lubricant (I know I should't with the band there, but I think it's mostly safe), it's amazing when warmed up, and it's challenging. If you're using the larger end, I suggest taking this slow for beginners. Don't rush yourself and relax. But you could use either end, depending on your mood. It also warms to your body due to it's material, keeping it comfortable as you use it. In fact, you could cool it down in the refrigerator or heat it up by boiling it or running it under hot water. For male-bodied people, the smaller end can be used for prostate stimulation.

What I don't like about this toy: Because it's made of metal, it's always cold when you first go to use it, unless you're keeping it in a warm enviroment. I wasn't sure exactly which end to insert first, so I used the larger end. There was no real description on the packaging.

Inside and Out: Toys for the Male Body pt. 3 - Love Dolls

Whether you have a male or female doll, you'll need to take great care of them. Some are made of PVC, silicone, or a mix. Much like caring for a male masturbator, you'll want to take great care of your dolls. One reason to take good care of these dolls is because of the material. Mostly made of silicone or a hybrid of silicone, they are porous and can trap dirt and dust easily. Without a proper cleaning, that could cause infections for some people after use. Further more, please clean your toys after using them! Re-using a toy that you've used before can also lead to harm and infection.

Caring for blow up dolls
Blow-up sex dolls are the most prone to damage because they're inflatable and made out of plastic materials. To ensure that your doll stays clean and cared for, take these precautions:

1. Don't over-inflate your doll!
Blow up the doll about half way, then give them 10 minutes to allow even air distribution. Immediately blowing them up fully may cause strain during use, resulting in ripped seams in some areas.

2. Repair any holes immediately.
Using a repair kit, patch up the holes right away. Follow the instructions on the repair kit for the best result.

3. Use a specific toy cleaner.
While you could use anti-bacterial soap on most toys, you may want to stick with a specialist toy cleaner, such as Refresh or Come Clean. If there are holes in this doll meant for sex, see if they can be turned inside out for thorough cleaning. If not, you'll want to inflate your doll during the cleaning process and use a soft brush for all of the creases.

Caring for your life-like sex doll (inflatable and non-inflatable)
The inflatable dolls will follow the same guidelines and blow-up dolls, but you'll want to finish them off with a renewer powder to keep them feeling like they did when you got them.

1. Similar to male masturbators, clean out the removable genitals with toy cleaner and allow to dry thoroughly. If you're going to be out all day, allow the toy to air dry and apply renewer powder when you get home. If you don't, they will get sticky and gross.

2. If the genitals are built-in, then try getting them as close to the surface as you can to clean them. If that doesn't work, you may need to get your hands in there with the toy cleaner and a clean cloth, then go in with the powder once it's dry.

If the doll has two orifices that connect to each other in a U shape, rinse it out by putting water in to

one hole and letting it drain out of the other. While I've never had to clean one of these out, I think you should be able to put some toy cleaner in one hole and swish it around. Again, let it air dry. You'll want to put renewer powder in and around the entrances to both orifices.
3. Caring for a Japanese love doll isn't as easy as the others. You'll want to essentially give her a bath in shallow water and clean out her vaginal and anal tunnels with toy cleaner. Dry her off and use renewer powder all over. Outside, underneath, on top, and inside. Then store her away for your next use.

Thank you very much for reading! If you have any questions or comments, leave them in the comments section or email me. :)
